Founded upon a dream to reform travel industry standards across the Amber Valley area, SC Travel has had quite the journey since our 2006 inception.

1990's - Life as a London Black Cab Driver

Living in East Ham, London, Black-Cab Driver Sean Connolly worked to serve the people of East London whilst bringing up his family, alongside wife Susan Connolly.

2006 - SC Travel

With years of experience in the taxi industry, Sean knew of the severe lack of accessible travel services for disabled adults and children. This was especially prevalent in the Amber Valley area, where there weren't any wheelchair accessible taxi services available at all. SC Travel changed this. Pledging to provide quality, reliable and accessible transport, Sean and Susan founded SC Travel; one of the first operators to buy and license a wheelchair accessible vehicle in the Amber Valley area.

2020 - SC Travel Garage

After over 15 years of being in business, SC Travel needed a place to call home. Thus, the SC Travel Garage was opened; supporting SC Travel’s newfound growth of reach, services and staff in Derbyshire and beyond.

1996 - Move to Alfreton

The Connolly family decided to escape to the beautiful English countryside, settling in the Derbyshire town of Alfreton. Although now living in Alfreton, Sean still worked in London and commuted back-and-forth.

2018 - SC Travel continues 
under John Connolly

As a traditional, family-run business, Sean and Susan’s son, John, took over as Managing Director of SC Travel in 2018 to continue what his parents started, build upon their legacy and grow the SC outreach.
